"I'm looking forward to joining you on Sunday. I've got my alb, stole, sermons and bucket and spade ready to hit Tenerife running! Both your previous locums, Alex and Richard have said what a lovely lot you all are so I'm looking forward to meeting you.
Perhaps a little bit of my pedigree might be helpful so that you know what you're getting. I'm a Yorkshire man from Sheffield, trained at King's College London, St Augustine's College Canterbury and post graduate at Christ Church College Canterbury. Then it was ordination on Merseyside at Liverpool Parish Church followed by Religious Programmes Producer at the BBC and then 20 years as Communications Officer for the Bishop of Lichfield, living near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.
Before I retired in 2011 I was the Anglican Chaplain on Mallorca for 11 years. Since then I seem to have been quite busy doing locum duty in Menorca, Corfu, Costa del Sol, Lisbon, Porto, Algarve, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and even the poor folk of All Saints Church in Puerto de la Cruz managed to put up with me on three occasions.....I think they must have been desperate.
I arrive with my wife, Caroline, who usually manages to keep me under control but any complaints about me should be aimed in her direction and she will sort me out!!
